Tonight was a night of firsts in Vegas!
Malcolm Subban is making his first start this evening against his former Boston Bruins. But that isn’t all. Alexander Tuch recorded his first NHL goal 14:39 into the second period of the game. His goal came unassisted after a strong back check and stripping the puck from several Boston players before going post to top shelf behind Tuuka Rask.
Only minutes later, Vadim Shipachyov cleaned up a mess in front of Tuuka Rask and scored his first goal in the NHL. The 30 year old scored 17:46 in the second.
Shipachyov’s goal was assisted by none other than Alex Tuch (recording his first assist of the season) and Deryk Engelland.
More to come as the third period has yet to be played! Score is still 2-0
The Golden Knights beat the Bruins 3-1 on Sunday evening after controlling the momentum into the third period.
Subban recorded 22 saves and one goal against in his first win as a Golden Knight. His stellar play, and the consistency of the Vegas D kept the team together as they kept a shutout into the final minutes of the game.
